Caught in the Act

While I made some wassail and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies this morning (yum!), Landon wandered off to occupy himself. I found him a while later looking for a good book to read. (At least he inherited something from me!) Speaking of good reads, anyone have a suggestion? Just finished Gatsby and still looking for a new book to start...

He is SO cute!! As for books, I have been on that same quest lately. Recently have read The Book Thief, The Help, and The Count of Monte Christo. All three were fantastic!

Alright Becca, I'm going to let you in on a little secret book that I have never told other book seekers....are you ready for this little gem?

It's called: A Girl of the Limberlost. By Gene-Stratton Porter.

It's an oldy but sooo goody. I read it one day when I was 13 and having a terrible day. My aunt handed me this worn looking pretty book and I read it and LOVED it. It was magical. It's such a beautiful book. Like...so good.

So. I dare you to try and find this little beauty and give your heart something to beat about. word.

At least I hope you love it. I have never recommended it because it's always that magical little old book you forget about cuz it's tucked neatly away. Anyways.

Let me know what you think ;)

So cute. Love to start them into reading young.

I also enjoyed The Book Thief and The Count of Monte Cristo. I, too, read A Girl of the Limberlost when I was in my teens and loved it. I re-read it a few decades later recently and enjoyed it just as much.

Have fun reading.

Nicole/Danielle: I really want to read the Book Thief but they were all checked out at the library though... grrr. I did get Count of Monte Cristo though!

Stacy: I got it! Just started Limberlost this morning - very intrigued! Will let you know when
I'm finished :)

Heath: I went and registered at goodreads. Now I need to just explore it and find the book lists...

Jenny Leigh: Me too! Play dates would be so fun!!

Courtney: If that book is anything like the movie then I'm sure I'll love it! Will definitely have to check that one out!
